Proofing your artwork for print
Our guide for the main options of proofing your files to ensure everything is correct.
Before proceeding to print, all artwork must be approved. Even when a print-ready PDF is supplied, there are rare occasions where the final printed result may differ slightly from the artwork provided, including possible colour variations between what appears on screen and the finished printed product. We offer three proofing options:
This is the most reliable proofing method, as it allows you to inspect a physical sample and see exactly how your job will print. Please note that samples are not finished products — they will not be trimmed, bound, or completed — but they will be printed on your selected stock using the final artwork file. Printed proofs typically take 1–2 hours to produce and can be viewed at our Production Office address at 63 Coram St, London WC1N 1HB.
If you are unable to visit our store, you may choose a digital proof and complete our digital proof agreement form. This option is more convenient and allows us to email you an image of the printed sample, created using high-quality photography or scanning equipment. Please note that colours and print quality may not appear completely accurate due to lighting conditions, photography, and differences in screen calibration. Digital proofs also take approximately 1–2 hours to prepare.
If your deadline is urgent or you do not require a proof, you may complete our non-proof agreement form and we will begin production as soon as possible.
The proofing process is intended to confirm print quality, colour accuracy, and any printing issues that may arise from the supplied PDF file. Please ensure that all design checks — including layout, spelling, content, and artwork approval — have been completed before submitting your final files. If you are unsure we are here to help or to get your order underway.
