Paper types and sizes

Choose the right paper

Learn more about the types of paper and the sizes we offer.

Paper Weight

Paper weight is measured in GSM (grams per square metre). Generally, the higher the GSM, the thicker and heavier the paper feels.

Our most popular paper weights include:

While paper weight doesn’t dramatically change the print quality itself, it does affects the feel and durability of the finished product. For example, you may want a thicker stock for a book cover or a sturdier card for a premium flyer or business card.

Paper Types

We offer three main paper finishes:

Uncoated

With no surface coating, ink is absorbed more into the paper, creating softer and slightly more muted colours. Uncoated stock has a natural, tactile feel and is ideal if you prefer a non-shiny finish.

Silk

Silk paper is perfect for vibrant colours and sharp images while maintaining a smooth, soft feel. It offers a subtle glossy finish, making it a popular choice for flyers, brochures, and marketing materials.

Satin

Satin sits between uncoated and silk finishes. It’s less glossy than silk but smoother and more vibrant than uncoated paper, offering a balanced, professional look.

Paper Size

We primarily print using the A Series paper sizes, but because we don’t batch your order with others, we can trim your print to any custom size within these dimensions.

From small A7 business cards to large A0 posters, we’ve got you covered.

We also regularly print on SRA paper sizes, which are slightly larger than standard A sizes. This is especially useful for full bleed printing (see our see our bleed guide). For example, if you want an A3 print with full bleed, simply supply a PDF slightly larger than A3. We’ll print it on SRA3 paper and trim it down to the final A3 size for a full bleed finish.
